ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages) and CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) are two different scales for assessing language proficiency. ACTFL, mainly used in the U.S., has 10 levels ranging from “Novice Low” to “Superior,” while CEFR, common in Europe, categorizes proficiency into six levels from A1 (beginner) to C2 (highly advanced).
