With a reading sample, you can easily check whether the material is suitable for you. You can conveniently purchase our e-books directly in our shop.

Yes, our books are ideal for beginners, such as Der seltsame Freund – an illustrated short story with an entertaining plot, written in simple German for absolute beginners on the level A1-Beginners. At the end of the book you will also find a handy vocabulary list for practicing. Each book on our website is clearly labeled and contains detailed information on the appropriate language level – from A1 (Beginner/Novice Low) to C2 (Superior).

However, if you decide to buy the book elsewhere, you will find a link in the “Buy from Other Retailers” section where you can purchase the e-book or printed paperback.

We offer the most common payment methods with the highest security standards such as credit cards (MasterCard, VISA American Express etc.), EPS instant bank transfer, direct bank transfer but also Paypal, Google Pay and Apple Pay. Yes, you will automatically receive your invoice by email immediately after your purchase has been successfully completed. You can easily check your orders at any time later in your account under “My-Account” in the menu.

Yes. You can also order as a “guest”, but you must at least leave a valid e-mail address to which we can send the download link, the order confirmation and the invoice.

After successfully purchasing the e-book on our website, you will see a confirmation of your purchase on the screen. This confirmation includes a download link. Simply click the link to download your e-book.
If you cannot download it immediately, you will also receive an email with your purchase confirmation. This email contains the same download link. The email will be sent to the address you provided during the purchase.

If you have not received an e-mail with the download link after your purchase, please contact us directly and we will be happy to help you. Simply contact us using the contact form on the website.

You can download your purchased e-book or audiobook a total of two times. This is sufficient in most cases. If you have any problems, please contact us immediately using the contact form.

Products and Formats

We offer e-books in ePub format. This format is compatible with almost all common e-readers and can also be read on computers and smartphones with the appropriate e-reader software installed. The audiobooks are provided in MP3 format in high quality with 320 kbS.

Of course! Almost all common e-readers (including Amazon Kindle Reader) support e-books in ePub format. If you want to read an e-book on your smartphone, tablet or computer, all you need is to install an e-reader app, and you’re ready to start!

Not at all. If you have a smartphone, tablet or computer, the option to unzip the ZIP file is already available in the operating system. The ZIP file can simply be downloaded and your new e-book or audiobook is ready to use in just a few steps.

Yes, every book presented in our online store also has a reading sample for you to view. You will find the reading sample below the book description labeled: “Reading Sample”. This also applies to audio books, they also contain an audio sample.

Terms of Use and Rights

No. By purchasing an e-book, you agree to the terms and conditions, which also define specific usage rights for you as the buyer. According to Section 5.2, all content provided to you is legally protected by copyright and related rights. The use of digital content such as e-books and audiobooks is strictly limited to personal use and may not be shared with third parties.

No. E-books cannot be printed, as they are exclusively designed for use on electronic devices such as e-readers, smartphones, or computers. If you wish to purchase a printed version of a book, you will find the corresponding links below the description of each book.

As long as you use the purchased e-book or audiobook for private purposes to learn the German language and comply with the usage and copyright agreements outlined in the terms and conditions  that you have read and accepted, there are no restrictions on the use of e-books and audiobooks.

Returns and Support

By purchasing an e-book or audiobook, you agree to waive the standard return policy provided by law. As e-books and audiobooks are digital products that can be accessed immediately after purchase, refunds or returns are not possible. We strongly recommend testing free samples or audio samples of audiobooks before purchasing to ensure that the product meets your expectations.

Learning and Language Tools

Yes, the short stories in the “German Reader by Klara Wimmer” series, for example, include vocabulary lists at the end of each book. These lists provide the phrases and words used in the book along with their English translations. In contrast, the “German Simple Sentences” series consists of practice books with thematically arranged sentences in German, which are also directly translated into English. This allows you to practice German in a simple yet highly effective way and prepare yourself for everyday communication in the German language.

Sure. All books contain the vocabulary lists with translation into English. Audio versions are also available, as pure audiobooks or as interactive e-books with audio texts.

You can write down and memorize the expressions, phrases and short sentences that are useful in practice. You can also briefly tell a friend about the short stories you have read with the help of journalistic five W-questions: who, what, when, where and how. If you encounter issues such as a download interruption during your first attempt, you can use the download link in your order confirmation email to try again. Please note that the link can be used a maximum of two times, and you must download your purchased e-book or audiobook within 72 hours (3 days) of purchase. If you are still experiencing technical problems, please contact us using our contact form.

Naturally. German Reader by Klara Wimmer offers you specially written, practice-oriented short texts to train your German. With the help of these texts, exercises and questions, the three skills are strengthened: reading competence, grammar and written usage. This is also possible for the Simple Sentences series.
